- **Event Description**: The Resene Architecture & Design Film Festival returns to Wānaka this June, bringing a curated mini five-day festival to the iconic Cinema Paradiso from 18–22 June. 

Now in its 15th edition, the festival brings together thought‑provoking documentary and drama films from the worlds of architecture, design and art. The programme is designed for anyone with a creative or curious mind!

Wānaka audiences can experience a selection of the 2026 festival’s most celebrated titles – the best of the best from one of the largest architecture and design film festivals in the world.

SCREENING SCHEDULE

• The Space Architect – Thursday 18 June, 6pm. A portrait of space architect Constance Adams, preceded by short films on local artist Neil Pardington and female architects/alumni of Victoria University. Screening includes an introduction from Architecture & Women NZ (A+W NZ)

• The Harvard 5: A Story Of Love, Architecture, And A Design Revolution – Friday 19 June, 5:30pm. Follow five Bauhaus-inspired architects who ignited a modern design revolution, preceded by a Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/ Len Lye Centre short film. Film sponsored by Allied Concrete.

• The Great Arch – Saturday 20 June, 5pm. In 1982, President Mitterrand’s design contest was won by unknown Dane Spreckelsen, whose ambitious Paris landmark triggers unforeseen consequences.

• Parallel Universe: The Art And Design Of Roy Good – Sunday 21 June, 5pm. A documentary on Roy Good, a Bauhaus‑influenced modernist, a pioneer whose work shaped art, television and design in Aotearoa.

• The House of Cini Boeri – Monday 22 June, 5:30pm. A portrait of architect and designer Cini Boer, through the places she lived, the testimonies of those who knew her well, and the works she created. 

Launched in 2012, the festival showcases the latest and most captivating architecture and design films to audiences in Aotearoa New Zealand. Initially screening exclusively at Rialto Cinemas in Auckland, the festival has grown into a nationwide event, with the 15th edition playing in 13 regions and 14 cinemas. It has become a key annual film festival in Aotearoa New Zealand and is one of the largest architecture and design film festivals in the world.
